BIOGRAPHY

Dr Al-Rikabi was appointed as a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Musgrove Park hospital in Taunton following an undergraduate training in both dentistry and medicine.
For the last 18 years, as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Al-Rikabi has been carrying out daily surgical operations in the field of oral and facial surgery with significant interest in facial aesthetics, oral surgery, facial trauma, dental implants and head and neck cancer.
Finishing dentistry in 1996, Dr Al-Rikabi worked as a dentist for 7 years, In 2003 he worked as a resident oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Dudley and Wolverhampton, he gained the membership of the faculty of dental surgery from the Royal College and Surgeon of Glasgow in 2004 (MFDS). He obtained the international qualifying exam (IQE) for overseas dentist by the general dental council in Edinburgh in 2005.
In 2009 he finished studying medicine in Cardiff ( 2005- 2009), and obtained his (MBBCH), he then worked as a doctor in South Wales Hospitals in Cardiology, intensive care, vascular surgery, general surgery and ENT.
In 2010, Dr Al-Rikabi gained the membership of the faculty of Royal College of surgeons in Edinburgh
(MRCS).
In 2011, Dr Al-Rikabi entered a higher specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This intense 5 years training programme allowed him the opportunity for more exposure in this field to become an expert in oral and facial surgery. The training was focused on oral and dental surgery, jaw corrective surgery, dental implants, facial aesthetic, and head and neck cancer surgery.
In October 2016 Ali successfully finished the oral and maxillofacial surgery higher specialist training by obtaining the fellowship of the Royal College of surgeons in Dublin (FRCS), through which he was awarded the certificate of completion of specialist training from the Royal College of Surgeons (CCST) in February 2017 and became a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
